About

I was born in Nairobi, Kenya and raised in five countries before turning twelve. I have had the good fortune of travelling to scores of countries and hope to travel to many more with my son.

I completed my doctorate at the University of Oxford in 2015 after nine months of ethnographic fieldwork in Libya during the 2011 uprising. I did a post-doc at the University of Oxford and then had the honour of working for the International Committee of the Red Cross in Geneva, Switzerland. I am now an assistant professor at the University of Regina.
